How to make pickling spice cheaply

I was at the store buying picking spice, which was $4.89 for less than a 1oz.  Guess what is in pickling spice?  Mustard seeds, coriander seeds (seeds of cilantro plant), cayenne pepper, bay leaves, dill seed and allspice, cinnamon and ginger.  Yup that's it, you could buy all of the above herbs in bulb and mix it your self or for $1.15 you can buy a box of Zatarain’s crawfish, shrimp and crab boil in a bag, which is 3ozs. of mustard seeds, coriander seeds (seeds of cilantro plant), cayenne pepper, bay leaves, dill seed and allspice.  You can buy a bag of cinnamon sticks for .99 in the Mexican aisle of most grocery stores, and ginger you can get in the cheap generic container for a buck at Wal-Mart.  So for $3.15 before tax of course you can make almost a  pint jar full of pickling spice.  Now you know, share it with some one you love, after all pickles are one of the best and easiest foods to make.
